Arm Liposuction & Arm Contouring

Conveniently located to serve Houston

Arm liposuction is a cosmetic procedure designed to remove excess fat from the upper arms. People looking for arm liposuction in Houston rely on Downsize! Lipo Center of Houston to provide contouring results that look incredibly natural.

What Is Arm Liposuction?

Often, stubborn fat in the upper arms cannot be removed through diet and exercise alone. Arm liposuction is a perfect way to quickly and effectively remove excess fat.

This process involves creating a tiny incision in the upper arm, inserting a cannula (a thin tube with a sharp end), and dislodging fat cells from the surrounding tissues. Medical suction is then used to remove the fat from the body through the cannula.

Am I a Good Candidate for Arm Liposuction?

Arm liposuction is perfect for patients with a stable weight who are at or near their ideal body weight. Good candidates are healthy and have realistic goals. The best candidates are willing to commit to healthy lifestyle changes to maintain the results of arm liposuction for years to come.

Your Consultation

Dr. Hennessy will ask about your goals and concerns during your consultation. He will evaluate your medical history and examine your arms. Dr. Hennessy will create a suitable arm liposuction plan that can achieve your aesthetic goals.

The procedure plan will be explained in great detail. Dr. Hennessy will discuss preparation, the liposuction procedure, the expected results, and the recovery process. You will also learn about the cost of your arm liposuction procedure. It is important to raise any concerns so Dr. Hennessy can address them.

Your Arm Liposuction & Arm Contouring surgery will be performed by Dr. Hennessy in Houston.

The Procedure

The arm lipo procedure can last one to two hours, depending on the amount of excess fat to be removed. This procedure—and all of our liposuction procedures—is categorized as “awake liposuction.” The patient is awake and comfortable during the surgery, and no pain is felt.

A tumescent solution is administered, swelling the fatty tissue for easier removal. This solution contains local anesthesia for numbing and epinephrine to prevent blood loss. Next, a small incision is created. Since Dr. Hennessy performs Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL), an oscillating cannula is inserted to break down the stubborn fat. It is then removed from the arm using medical suction.

The Recovery Process

The patient can go home right after the arm lipo procedure. As part of the preparation process, it may be necessary to arrange for a friend or family member to provide transportation home afterwards. Because awake liposuction was used and general anesthesia was not administered, initial recovery time will only be 48 hours.

Recovery instructions will be given to the patient. The patient may experience a degree of soreness and bruising during the recovery process; cold compresses and compression garments can help address these issues. The arms must be rested for a time after treatment. Once recovery is complete, patients can enjoy their full results.

The Cost of Arm Liposuction

The cost of the arm liposuction procedure may depend on factors like the amount of excess fat removed, along with the total time needed to perform the surgery. The overall price will increase if both arms are treated and if the surgery is combined with other liposuction procedures.
